Jeremiah Washington (0) gets a shot over Morgan Park’s Karl Jones (15). Worsom Robinson/For the Sun-Times.

Well, another tremendous Public League game. There wasn’t a single dull moment today at Morgan Park. There wasn’t a moment to catch your breath (or send out a decent tweet). It was high level basketball played at a fever pitch of emotion in a tiny, loud gym.

There were times when Bogan totally dominated but Morgan Park just would not quit. Such an impressive win for the Mustangs considering they didn’t have Marcus Watson.

There was a ton of great action all around the area tonight, so time to get to it.

Tuesday’s top games

St. Laurence 79, Providence-St. Mel 77 OT: Finn Walsh hit the game-winner. Jeremiah Williams had a huge night with 29 points, 12 rebounds, eight blocks and five assists. I raved about Williams the couple times I saw him last year. He is clearly living up to that potential. Dono Slater had 17 points and Trey Davis drained five three-pointers for 15 points. This was a road win. Time to sit up and take notice of the Vikings.

York 67, No. 14 Benet 58 OT: The Dukes were expected to be pretty good this season and now we have the proof. Nathan Shockey scored 17, Sam Walsh had 16 and Erik Cohn added 13. Kendrick Tchoua led the Redwings with 24.

Mount Carmel 79, Fenwick 72 OT: What a night in the Catholic League. Sophomore Bryce Hopkins led the Friars with 30 points.

No. 19 Waukegan 62, Warren 52: Bryant Brown had 20 points and seven rebounds. Andre White added 15 points and six assists and Jordan Brown scored 11 and grabbed four steals. The Bulldogs are 5-1 and officially off to a good start.

No. 16 Riverside-Brookfield 76, Aurora Central 58: The Bulldogs are 7-0. Zach Vaia had 19 points and six assists.

Brooks 69, Julian 29: Conference win for the Eagles. Isaiah Tolbert had 19 points and five steals and Ryan Burgess scored 13.

No. 9 Simeon 70, Harlan 36: Kejuan Clements didn’t play. He injured his ankle in practice on Monday. The Wolverines rolled behind Antonio Reeves’ 14 points and 10 rebounds and Ahamad Bynum’s 14 points and five assists. Freshman AJ Casey had eight points and five boards.

Lindblom 64, King 54: Two teams I’m keeping an eye on. Myles Twyman scored 21 and NaShawn Howze added 15. Lindblom is 4-2.

Oak Lawn 73, TF South 59: Hello Spartans. Almost kind of a statement win for Oak Lawn on the road. Sami Osmani scored 42 points. He was 12-for-17 from the field and 15 of 15 from the free-throw line. Trey Ward added 19 points.

West Chicago 63, Kaneland 62: Jordan Wilkins scored 26 and Sam Ricci added 15 in the road win.

Oak Forest 72, Richards 60: This is an eye-opener. Freshman Robbie Avila scored 24. Jayson Kent had 23 and Juan Avila added 18. Oak Forest is 4-2 and looks like it will be a factor in the South Suburban Blue

No. 3 Bloom 50, Lincoln-Way East 38: The Blazing Trojans are not letting up. Donovan Newby had 15 and Dante Maddox Jr. added 13. Morgan Park looms on Saturday.

St. Ignatius 68, St. Francis de Sales 50: I’m hearing St. Francis de Sales might have a seven-footer. Who knows. The Wolfpack wins tonight behind 18 points from Christian Davis and 15 from junior Daniel Florey.

Shepard 49, TF North 46: First Oak Lawn, then Oak Forest and now Shepard. What a weird, cool night. Burtron Harper had 16 points and Korey Burrell scored 10.

No. 6 Curie 70, UP-Englewood 47: DaJuan Gordon led the way with 16 points and seven boards and Justin Harmon scored 11.

No. 25 Kenwood 102, Corliss 94 four OT: The Trojans have a few transfers and are clearly better than anyone realized. But Kenwood survives.

No. 11 Leo 76, St. Joseph 58: (Writeup from Dan McGrath) Leo trailed 29-25 after a listless first half, but came alive big-time in a 26-point third quarter, Fred Cleveland scoring 12 and Myles Thomas 11, including three consecutive threes. Leo trailed 38-37 midway through the third, but took the lead on two DaChaun Anderson free throws and closed the quarter on a 12-1 run to pull away, Thomas’ two three’s the back-breaker.

Cleveland finished with 30. Anderson 18 and 13 rebounds. Thomas had a career-high 14, all in the second half.

Leo has won five straight and is 5-1 overall, 2-0 in the Catholic League. Jon Robinson had 15 and Reggie Strong and Malik Anderson had 14 apiece for St. Joe’s (2-4, 1-1).
