The Super 25 held strong in the opening week of the state playoffs. Bolingbrook was the only team to lose and fall out of the rankings. The Raiders’ 38-21 loss to Waubonsie Valley opened the door for Hersey (9-1) to make its Super 25 debut.

A close No. 26 in the rankings is Antioch (10-0), which loses out to Hersey due to the fact that the Huskies rolled over Lincoln Way-Central 52-13 in a dominant fashion in Class 7A.

The top three teams outpaced their opponents in a big way, with Lincoln Way-East, Batavia and Oswego each scoring 49 points in their respective games to blow out their first-round opponents and keep open a compelling conversation for the best team in the area.

Who sets the tone in the second round of the playoffs? Does the Super 25 shake up heading into the quarterfinals? Stay tuned to Sun Times Game Week. Here’s the full list entering Week 11 of the 2018 season.
