Solid rankings. March Madness will tell the real story. If Viator gets past Rolling Meadows they’ll get crushed by Niles North on their home floor.

    • chris

That should be a Regional championship worth going to if we see St. Viator at Niles North. Should be close if it happens

  • Manny

Do we have guesses for Mikes All Area team? I think the # is 20:

    1. THT
    2 AYO
    3 Freeman
    4 Z Griffen
    5. R Davis
    6 M Jones
    7. J. Wolfe
    8. D. Peterson
    9. D. Smith
    10. M Talyor
    11. C Adams
    12. Drake
    13. Cleveland
    14. S Shafer
    15. B Harvey
    16. J Hardy
    17. A. Miller
    18. Franklin
    19. __________

I am sure I missed a lot of great players. Who you got…..

    • James

Dont forget fenwick guard DJ Steward. I always think.the top players on top teams deserve it. You are missing players from Curie, Evanston, Benet, West aurora, New Trier, Marian Catholic, Naperville North and Depaul prep. Not all deserve it, but interesting how many top 15 teams may not have top 20 players.

    • Joe Thursby

      I should be on there

    • CP3

All Area must include Lance Jones. Leads Evanston in every major statistical category. One of, if not the best all around jr guards in the state.

      • Joe

wild and takes 20+ shots a game. Im willing to bet his shooting % isnt high.

        • CSL Fan

Not in a Mike Ellis offense is any one player gonna take 20+ shots. %might not be high and wild is just your opinion, he’s got offers already and he’s a gamer, just as much as you’re a hater.

  • Manny

Such a wide open year. Benet #7 would probably not be favored by most people in a game against #24 Bolingbrook or #19 Niles North. But they deserve the ranking, because they havent tanked in big games like these teams have. It has really made for a fun playoff season.

  • B max

Why did LEO drop out of the entire ranking?

    • Manny

When you lose in the early rounds in 2A you are not going to stay in the rankings. They had a great season and will be back next year.

      • B Max

So lets say Orr loses their regional game. Are they still not at top 10-20 team? One bad loss erases an entire season? Upsets happen. This is why they play.

        • Manny

thats just the thing – Orr will not lose their regional game – those kind of upsets dont happen to top 25 teams. If they do, they are not top 25 teams.

        • chris

Which top team has Leo beat this season? They play in Catholic White which is much weaker than the Blue Division. Leo had a real nice season and had a great run. They just did not play top teams in area. Lost to Marshall team that only had 8 wins all season when it mattered most. Now the 3A and 4A teams that win in the playoffs are going to dominate top 25 for sure

    • Jim-Bob

Cause their season is over, they lost to Marshall in the regional final.

  • Be real

No need to cry about rankings anymore. Time to get real. Time to clean out lockers!!! 1st up Leo!!@ LOL

  • B Max

Orr wont be challenged in 2A. I wish they would have reclassified to 3A. They would even be favorites there as well. Go Spartans.

  • chris

Consensus Sauce top 25 from multiple sources averaged for total fairness:

    1. Simeon 2. Orr 3. Curie 4. Young 5. Morgan Park 6. Evanston 7. Benet 8. West Aurora 9. Niles North 10. New Trier 11. Marist 12. Naperville North 13. OPRF 14. Fenwick 15. St. Viator 16. Hillcrest 17. Marian Catholic 18. DePaul 19. Maine South 20. H-F 21. Hinsdale South 22. Bogan 23. Uplift 24. Bolingbrook 25. Loyola

On Verge: Joliet Central, Maine West. LWE, Willowbrook, Corliss, Jacobs, Hope Academy, Larkin, Romeoville, Batavia

Honorable Mention: Leo and Northridge Prep

  • Balance the evals

Niles North loses to a lower ranked team in their own conference on the road and they dropped +12 spots but they beat New Trier at Home and only move up 4 spots. But when they lost to NT at their house you moved NT up +10….hmmmm

    • Norm

According to MO it’s because MS beat NN twice so he wants NN behind MS. I think NN is the team to beat in the ME sectional. If every team plays their best they are the best team. Hopefully my Wildkits will have something to say about it

  • Leegs1

Congrats to Leo on a fine season.

  • chris

Great game at Northridge as Uplift barely survives the Northridge Knights and Joe Thursby. 66-64.

Thursby hits 2 threes in a row to tie the game at 64 with 55 secs to go after 2 Uplift turnovers. Knights have ball for last shot and miss lay up with 9 seconds to go. Uplift rebounds advances ball to past half court top of the key where Thursby steals the ball and then is bumped and run over by Michael Flenory who steals the ball from him and goes in for game winning dunk. Refs are instructed to eat their whistles at end of game when it is on the line and that made all the difference for Uplift in this one as they move on to play Orr in sectional at Timothy Christian. Northridge finishes their season 22-6 and 12-0 Champs in ISL conference.

Markese Jacobs -high game scorer with 28 . Toraze Dobbs 26 and 18 rebounds.
Brendan Conroy led Northridge with 19 and Clutch Joe Thursby added 14

First Class Game and High Class Sportsmanship by all players of 2 Championship Teams. Way to play and best wishes to Uplift and Coach Taylor against Orr.
