When is undefeated #1 ranked Aurora Christian going to garner some attention? State Farm Holiday Champs.

Love it. Are you trying to take Mikes job? I agree you cant move niles too far down. At some point you need to reward # of wins. Did you see my note about JC below. The win over normal was not the normal you thought it was. So now JC best win is a 3 losses WWS team. They should be dropped from the rankings. Rita.drop them too many losses….new blood needed…..

    • John B

It is an interesting trend in the rankings. Some of the ranked teams are playing each other and when they lose they don’t drop too much. But if you lose to an unranked team (Like Niles did), Mike has really been dropping teams. Naperville North, Romeoville all really dropped after losses to teams similar to New Trier. they probably should not drop quite as far because they have some good wins also, but I think they should leave the top 10.

  • chris

Willowbrook was upset by Morton so they are out of top 30

Can’t believe this has not been updated since the Niles North loss a few minutes ago? Seriously Chris, you are slackin.

Also, can’t wait for Public Powerhouses to chime in about New Trier. No way I can wait till next August to hear from him.

    • Pirate Sleeved Jersey

My bad, I see the Trevians have moved up, but Chris, only a two spot drop for NN, what gives?

      • chris

only 1 loss for NN – where do you have them?

        • Pirate Sleeved Jersey

Below Bolingbrook. OPRF & LP for sure. That was their test to see if they were really a top 10 team and they failed.

          • chris

I can see NN behind OPRF and not behind LP and Bolingbrook. Bolingbrook lost to St. Rita and Romeoville. LP lost to Bolingbrook, Orr, Loyola, and St. Ignatius.
NN remains in the top 10 holding the 7-8 position.

New Trier at home beats Nile North 60-58 with tip in game winner with 1.5 seconds.
New Trier will be back in super 25 for sure and Niles North moves down a few slots.

  • chris

Most Dangerous Team Not in Top 25 is Bogan!
They lost to Curie at Curie 64-58 . Very tempted to put Bogan into Real Time Super 25!

  • BigHomieQuan

I think Bogan should be back in. They are up to 10-5 and had 2 quality wins at PW Holiday Tourney (Ranked Proviso East at the time in 1st Rd and DGN), along w/ close losses to Hillcrest and Fenwick in finishing 6th.

Surely a win over Curie would get them in. Hoping they pull it off.

  • John B

Rita at 18 with so many losses is hard to understand. Yes they have some good wins, but 8 losses? I think teams like Loyola, Barrington deserve this spot for there overall records and good recent performance. Rita went on role, but the role ended. Last week Romeoville went from top 10 to out – Rita should have also dropped out.

    • chris

Barrington not yet good enough for top 25. They were beat badly by Jacobs which has better record and Jacobs is not yet good enough for top 25. Jacobs is ahead of Barrington . Many good teams out there and they all cannot be in top 25. St. Rita continues to lose and they will be out

      • John B

you are correct on Barrington – they don’t deserve it . I didn’t see the bad loss to Jacobs. But that loss is still not as bad as Rita’s loss to Providence. Mike should have ranked Loyola. They are not getting credit since they went out of state to play over the holidays. The beat Brother Rice by over 10, Lincoln park by 20. Losses only to New Trier (5) and Rita (3). Who else has 2 ranked wins with less than 3 losses…..outside the top 10?

        • chris

I have Loyola IN and just ahead of Brother Rice for sure. Loyola is solid and deserves to be in. They play St. Viator tonight at St. Viator so this should be very good game.

        • chris

Loyola with win over St. Viator on St. Viator home court 52-49. Ramblers solidify their #20 ranking ahead of Brother Rice who they also beat earlier in the season. Ramblers on a roll with 8 game win streak

  • Coacht619

How is Morgan Park ranked 6th with 6 losses?

    • chris

most of the MP loses are to out of state teams at National top level of competition. For in state teams, MP has only lost to Simeon and Curie which are ranked ahead of MP.

  • chris

After beating nationally ranked #5 Memphis East, How far up the National Rankings does Simeon go? Top 12 should be good to go, possibly top 10 in the USA top 25 in the Nation.
Simeon now in a different league all together , until and if they ever lose.

    • chris

Simeon moves up to #11 in USA Today National Top 25. Memphis East moves down to #13.
Top 10 in the Nation: 1. Montverde Academy 2. Oak Hill Academy 3. University School (Fort Lauderdale) 4. St Benedict’s Prep – NJ 5.DeMatha – MD 6. Bishop Montgomery -Torrance, CA 7. Findlay Prep 8. Gonzaga – DC 9. McEachern – GA 10. Phoenix Shadow Mountain – Phoenix, AZ

Scottie Pippen Jr plays for 24th ranked Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, CA

  • Marcus Thigpen

Romeoville is 14-3 I have attended all the games

    • chris

should Romeoville be ranked higher? They beat Hillcrest and and Joliet Central and lost to Bolingbrook and Leo. Who else did they lose to for their 3 rd loss?

    • chris

they also lost to Thornton in 3rd place game at Big Dipper tourney. Not a real meaningful loss in consolation game

    • James

Chris. I think joliet central us too high in your rankings. Now that WWS has lost 3 times in 4 games they have no good quality wins. Mike used Minooka as a quality win, but i saw them at york and they are that good. I also think st rita is getting a huge pass for its terrible losses. Have we forgot providence?? They ahpuld have been dropped after losing again

      • chris

Where do you have Joliet Central ranked at? If St. Rita is out, who do you have in? Very difficult to take St. Rita out at this time. They still have chance to win and stay in

      • chris

JC beat Normal and lost to Romeoville and North Lawndale. Mike O looks to be correct at ranking JC at 23.

  • John C

At 13-2 with a 20 point win over Lincoln park and a win over brother rice, I don’t see how loyola isn’t ranked. Their only losses are to teams that have been ranked and they won their tournament in Florida. Also, they are on a 7 game winning streak.

    • chris

Right on point about Loyola Academy. They are on the verge. 1 more big win or 19-25 lose a game and LA is in top 25

  • chris

These are perfect new super 25 by Mike!

    • James

Chris. Make the argument for naperville central over barrington. Barrington beat a higher ranked team and didnt they also beat rockford jefferson?

      • chris

On point about Barrington, lost to Jacobs 74-48 so you could make good case for Jacobs to be in top 25 . Barrington also lost to Palatine by 6. also lost to McHenry by 11. Barrington not good enough yet for top 25. They are on the Verge

  • Ed Harris

The Catholic League has 7 teams in the top 25. Public League has 5 and those are the ones who are there year after year.

    • chris

5 from Catholic league which has Blue and White Divisions and 2 from East Suburban Catholic. Which CPL teams should be in the top 25? There are 7 CPL teams listed here: Simeon, Curie, Orr, Young, Morgan Park, Lincoln Park and North Lawndale. That is 7.
Uplift on the verge , they need to be more consistent , same for Bogan. Who else you got from CPL that has earned top 25?

      • James

Bolingbrook and OPRF both needed OT against unranked teams. Wow…what happened there?

        • Michael O'Brien

It’s just a sign of how close everyone is. After the top few teams everyone is pretty much about the same and it just depends on how well they play on a particular day. I can’t remember ever having so many losses in the Super 25 this time of year.

          • Leegs1

Mikey: as stated last week, Simeon, followed by every one else.

          • Leegs1

Mikey: last year at this time, top 25 had 45 losses. This year top 25 has 77 losses.

          • Leegs1

Mikey: two years ago at this time, top 25 had 70 losses compared to 77 this year.

          • Be real

Do you think Fenwick vs Simeon Monday is a waste of time?

          • Curious Cat

Well as for BOLINGBROOK in case you haven’t heard. They lost their all everything PG Thornton to a major hand injury in 1st minutes of St. Rita game. Hiccup was expected and Rita game was headed toward blowout before he went down.

  • James

    Barrington??
