Leo’s Dechaun Anderson (23) drives to the basket on Providence-St. Mel’s Jason Mason (10) Friday 01-05-18. Worsom Robinson/For the Sun-Times.

The notebook is back. That was a super slim week of games, but I think we all needed a bit of a break.

Leo rolled tonight, it wasn’t much of a game. Great look at just how bright the future (and present) is for the Lions. I’ve been watching Leo’s numbers closely all season, Fred Cleveland is a stat-sheet stuffer. Dechaun Anderson’s rebounding numbers have really caught my eye as well. I have to admit I didn’t quite believe them though, they were incredibly high.

Anderson (and his younger brother Kendale) proved it to me in person tonight, what a display. Read all about Leo vs. Providence-St. Mel.

Tonight’s top games

Bloom 52, Rich South 47: Dante Maddox Jr drained five three-pointers and led the way with 25 points. Keshawn Williams added 14 points, four rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Barrington 63, No. 14 Conant 54: Upset here as the York champions go down. Jason Boock had 33 points for the Broncos and Ryan Davis led Conant with 21. Props to Cougars coach Jim Maley for sending the info even when his team loses.

Momence 68, Paxton-Buckley Loda 62: MOMENCE WATCH IS BACK. It never really left (Momence played great over the holidays) but there was just too much other stuff happening to focus on the Skins. Lamar Lillard had 20 points and nine rebounds and Woodrow Hubbard added 16 points and six steals. It’s time for me to pick which game I’m heading to.

Romeoville 71, Oswego 58: Solid conference win for the Spartans. Deandre Heckard scored 19 and Eddie Creal added 13.

No. 9 Bolingbrook 67, Sandburg 57, OT: The Eagles continue to surprise, taking Bolingbrook to overtime before losing.

Lincoln-Way East 64, Lockport 46: Sam Shafer led all scorers with 17 points and also passed 1,000 career points.

Hinsdale South 57, Downers Grove South 43: Big night for Zion Griffin with 34 points. I’ve seen the Hornets a few times this season, there are bursts where Griffin is absolutely unstoppable.

Andrew 61, Bradley-Bourbonnais 39: The rumblings of a resurgence continue in Tinley Park. Dan Gierhahn led the way with 16 points and Ryan Rolder added 12 points and five rebounds.

No. 16 DePaul Prep 46, No. 15 St. Rita 43: The Rams avenge the loss at Hinsdale Central last week. All the holiday tournament champs are losing! Look out Morgan Park and Simeon.

No. 17 Evanston 62, Niles West 47: The Wildkits cruise behind a balanced scoring effort. Lance Jones had 16 points and Jaheim Holden scored 15 points.

Naperville Central 55, No. 25 Wheaton-Warrenville South 43: The Redhawks have been creeping around the outside of the Super 25 for quite awhile. Will this get them in? Probably depends on what happens tomorrow.

Larkin 51, St. Charles North 50: Another team with a bounce-back win. The Royals had a rough go of it at Proviso West but picked up a nice conference victory tonight.
