It was another White Division Wednesday. Wells and Clemente didn’t disappoint, same as last season. The Wildcats pulled it out in the end, Teshawn Stokes was a monster, read all about it.

Clemente is 5-0 (undefeated is a theme in tonight’s notebook). Wildcats coach Adam Hoover was frank about other coaches trying to come in and steal Stokes. He also had some interesting things to say about life in the White.

“Teshawn is finally starting to get looks from colleges,” Hoover said. “It was unbelievably frustrating for a long time, with the way he played last year. He was loyal to us and then what does he get rewarded with? No colleges were coming talk to him.”

The White isn’t loaded with future high-major college superstars or sure-fire Division I prospects (but really, no conference in the state is). But there are plenty of players in the White that can play college basketball. It is loaded with unknown, under-recruited gems.

Wednesday’s top games

Lincoln Park 87, No. 19 Uplift 84: The Titans are actually under .500 now, not the start to the season they had planned. Great win for Lincoln Park, the Lions have talent and are always going to be a challenge at home.

No. 5 Orr 79, Farragut 64: The Spartans get it done at home. Raekwon Drake scored 20 and grabbed eight rebounds. Dannie Smith scored 10 and Chase Adams added 12 points and five assists.

No. 22 North Lawndale 86, Westinghouse 62: Demetrius Douglas keeps it up with 21 points. Rashaun Hill scored 13.

No. 24 Wheaton-Warrenville South 49, Lake Park 21: The Tigers dominate, remain unbeaten. Jake Healy scored 15.

Downers Grove North 65, Glenbard South 57: Maybe I was a year too early with the hype on the Trojans. They are now 6-0. Sema’j Henderson led the way with 22 pointsts and Mychale Hyland scored 14.

St. Laurence 85, Tinley Park 40: The Vikings are also unbeaten, a perfect 6-0 and averaging more than 80 points a game.

Schurz 76, Mather 54: The undefeated teams keep rolling Bulldogs win. Daniel Osorio had 20. Senior Mateo Watson had 14 boards and 10 blocks and sophomore Nakyel Shelton scored 11.

Grant 76, Antioch 52: Joe Henricksen thought that this Antioch team might be last year’s Grant. If you even understand that reference you probably listen to No Shot Clock too much. Big margin here for the current Bulldogs against previously undefeated Antioch. Mike Huff scored 29 and nine players scored.
