Morgan Park coach Nick Irvin tries to tell his side to the official. Worsom Robinson/For the Sun-Times.

At halftime it looked like Morgan Park and Bogan might not continue tonight’s game. The Mustangs didn’t think Ayo Dosunmu had four fouls. At one point Nick Irvin appeared to be about to pull his team off the court. Some players started heading towards the locker room. But the Mustangs ended up playing and winning in impressive fashion.

It is probably about time for people to start talking about Mustangs senior Cam Burrell. He’s off to a terrific start to the season. Has back-to-back great games under his belt now.

Don’t miss what Bogan coach Arthur Goodwin had to say about his freshman, Darrion Jones.

It was an impressive performance from Morgan Park. I’m a lot higher on them after seeing that game.

Bogan moved the ball really well. The Bengals have loads of talented guards that can shoot it and get to the rim. Rebounding will be a concern though. Right now it is all on Rashaun Agee. He needs some help.

This is a tweet that shouldn’t be missed. Loyola coach Tom Livatino with the charge chain…

Tuesday’s top games

No. 20 Kenwood 81, Brooks 53: High-flyer RJ McGee had 30 points and eight rebounds. McGee has flashed this potential before, if he finds some consistency look out.

Prospect 54, Schaumburg 38: There hasn’t been much talk about Prospect yet this season, but the program has earned some respect. David Swedura had 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists tonight. He was 11 for 16 from the field. The Knights are 4-2.

Geneva 74, Streamwood 52: Two players with big games in this one. Geneva’s Jack McDonald scored 31 and Streamwood’s Keenon Cole had 34 points and seven rebounds.

No. 1 Simeon 89, Harlan 51: The Wolverines cruise in their first game at No. 1. Talen Horton-Tucker had 21 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and six steals. Messiah Jones added 18 points and eight rebounds. Kejuan Clements sat with an injury, not sure if he will be ready to go for the Battle of Vincennes on Thursday.

Crete-Monee 90, No. 25 Rich East 83: That’s a fun score. The Rockets lose their first game after entering the Super 25 (which is a pretty popular thing to do). The Warriors were led by Josh Evans, a 6-4 senior, who scored 35 points. His teammate Malik Hardmon, who has been impressing people all season, scored 35 and had 15 rebounds.

Libertyville 59, Warren 54: Drew Peterson has the Wildcats at .500. He scored 23 and grabbed 10 boards. Josh Steinhaus drained four free throws to seal the win.

Leo 75, No. 18 St. Rita 65: (roundup supplied by Leo) Fred Cleveland scored 19 of his game-high 32 points in the first half as Leo (3-2, 1-0) won its third straight in the Catholic League opener for both teams before a full house in Leo’s refurbished gym.

Jordan Matthews scored 20 of his 24 in the second half for St. Rita (4-3, 0-1) which trailed by 20 after three periods. An active press and Matthews’ acrobatic drives to thee basket helped the Mustangs whittle the lead to seven with less than two minutes remaining, but junior DeChaun Anderson’s five points down the stretch helped the Lions close it out.

Anderson finished with 16 points and sophomore Jaden Williams had 11. Cleveland was 8-for-12 from the field, including five three-pointers, and 11-for-16 from the free-throw line, hitting his first eight foul shots.

Jeremiah Oden had 16 for the Mustangs.
