Schurz’s Jaland Mitchell (23) stumbles past Collins’ Demajaie Walton (24). Worsom Robinson/For the Sun-Times.

Some transfer rulings came down today. First off, I received a clarification from the Illinois High School Association tonight: “The IHSA is in consultation on the rulings with CPS Athletic Administration, at this juncture, they are still in charge of making them.”

What I take from that is the IHSA is helping the CPS investigate but the CPS is making the final decisions.

Some of those decisions were made today. Curie coach Mike Oliver confirmed that Marquise Walker has been cleared to play. He transferred from St. Joseph to Curie. Still no word on Maurice Commander, who transferred from Marist to Curie.

I haven’t been able to confirm this, but a source says Chase Adams has been cleared. He transferred from Marian Catholic to Orr.

Simeon expects a ruling on Xavier Pinson sometime before Friday. The Wolverines play their season opener on Saturday.

Collins and Schurz played a good one today. Read about that here.
