Prairie Ridge tops Mundelein

Prairie Ridge’s fortunes turned when its first four batters reached base with a pair of walks, a hit batsman and an error.

The Wolves, who had struggled with those phases in recent losses to Boylan and Schaumburg, were satisfied with letting Mundelein commit the blunders this time.

“The last two games we didn’t play well, we struggled catching the ball and our pitching struggled,” said Wolves coach Glen Pecoraro, whose team committed 12 errors and walked six in two lopsided losses. “It was good so see us take advantage of their mistakes.”

Prairie Ridge rode Ethan Routzahn’s solid pitching performance and its opportunistic offense to a 7-1 nonconference baseball victory over the Mustangs Wednesday.
