PEORIA—There were all kinds of great games and big performances across the state tonight. Unfortunately none of them were at Carver Arena.

I saw four pretty ho-hum games. Mt. Carmel was impressive though, they can give Orr a fight in the Class 2A title game tomorrow.

Lets get right to it.

Friday’s top games

Fremd 43, Conant 42: Kyle Sliwa did it again. This guy is unbelievable. He ran right over to the same spot where he hit the game-winner against Conant before and drained it again. This time he was crazy off-balance and it was more of a heave. I retweeted the video, don’t miss it. Poor Conant is going to be having Sliwa nightmares for the rest of their lives.

Jacobs 62, Larkin 39: Total domination from the Golden Eagles. Cam Krutwig finished second in our Player of the Year race. He put on a show tonight. According to Scott Burgess (@scottybscout) Krutwig left the game in the middle of the fourth quarter with 20 points, 19 rebounds, 15 blocks and eight assists.

Naperville North 77, Wheaton North 72: Forget that rocky start to the season, the Huskies have lived up to their preseason ranking. Mitch Lewis led the way with 21. Kudos to Wheaton North on an impressive playoff run. Luke Anthony and Rowan McGowen each scored 24.

Young 73, Oak Park 55: The Dolphins roll. Junior Javon Freeman had 17 points.

Simeon 69, Thornton 52: The Wildcats kept this close for awhile, but this is pretty much the expected score. Kezo Brown led the way with 18 points.

Evanston 81, Waukegan 68: Sounds like this was a great game for a long while until the Wildkits pulled away. Nojel Eastern had 29 points and 17 rebounds.

Edwardsville 81, Danville 59: Eastern and Krutwig weren’t the only stars to have huge nights. Mark Smith posted 45 points and 13 rebounds.

Bolingbrook beat Joliet West.
